JACK'S 2011 HALLOWEEN GAME

NOTE: I was having some camera issues on this day so certain pics didn't make the cut and others are on the fuzzy side but are still worth posting. I have since fixed the issue, I believe.

PLAYERS: Morgan H., Shannon Mac, Dovi, Jason M and 2 other guys (I think John and Jason were their names)

Jack's Trans-Carpathian Railway took place in the late 19th century in the general area of Romania. We were all characters with different backgrounds on different parts of the railway with the back being the most luxurious and belonging to the royal family. During this trip a Romanian Prince came aboard with his entourage.

It was a very good game. I personally felt that 9 hours was not enough time for all the rich details and possibilities in the game. I think 11 hours or more would have been more satisfying to me. Overall, it was a very good group though Dovi seemed distracted by an upsetting phone call and one of the guys I didn't know seemed a bit too overzealous in trying to get me into a conflict with another character even though he wasn't in the scene. I consider that bad roleplaying especially when I'm trying for a different outcome and the manner of the conflict he suggested didn't make much sense whatsoever. That said, I don't bear the guy any ill will and would play with him again.

If you can get Jack to run this for your group I would say definitely do it. Just try to get more table time than our group had as there were a few interesting scenes that had to be rushed or cut out, especially at the end.

You will note this blog is especially short compared to other RPGs I have reviewed. That's because I don't want to give any spoilers.

My character sheet and photo. I got to do some really fun things with him, including "prince" time.  I made an absolutely incredible roll at the end that saved my bacon.

Morgan's character. He had some problems at the end and that's all I'll say.

Nice props, Jack!

Dinner with the prince and that's all that I'll say.

Some of the notable NPCs in the game

The one on the right was Jason M's character. I believe the one on the left belonged to "the other Jason". John's character was so blurry I couldn't even post it. :(

Dovi's character. She had an interesting backstory and that's all I'll say. ;)

Guns, guns, guns! Name that movie quote.

If it was closer and super clear it might be a slight spoiler but Jack said it was fine as is.
